Azerbaijan’s apple exports to UAE skyrocket

Overall, Azerbaijan exported 30,525 tons of apples, valued at $20.3 million in the first four months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, this is a year-on-year increase of 11 percent in volume and 14 percent in value.
Over the course of four months, Azerbaijan sold 26,000 (+1.4%) of apples to Russia for $17.53 million (+4%), 1,226 tons (+6 times) to Uzbekistan for $1.1 million (+7 times), 1,293 tons (+60 times) to the UAE for $725,000 (+40 times), 1,300 tons (+13%) to Kazakhstan for $533,000 (+33%), and 215 tons (no supply a year ago) to Qatar for $181,000.
In 2023, Azerbaijan exported 91,229 tons of apples to 16 countries, 87.2 percent of which went to Russia.
