Azerbaijan resumes onion export to North Macedonia

Azerbaijan exported 7,904 tons of onions, valued at $2 million during the first five months of 2024, Report informs, referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the exports dropped by 51 percent in volume and 60 percent in value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 3,905 tons (-19%) of onions to Georgia for $715,230 (-28%), 1,610 tons (-70%) to Ukraine for $465,000 (-72%), 978 tons (-82%) to Russia for $430,000 (-81%), 1,112 tons for $339,000 to Iraq (no supply a year ago), 99.7 tons to Oman for $44,900 (no supply a year ago).
After a hiatus of 5 years and 5 months, Azerbaijan has restarted its onion exports to North Macedonia, delivering 20.5 tons valued at $4,950.
