Azerbaijan increases pineapple imports from Indonesia

In January-August 2023, Azerbaijan imported 1,189 tons (10% more year-on-year) of pineapples (fresh or dried) for $1.2 million (10% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,039 tons (+2%) of pineapples from Costa Rica for $916,000 (-0.7%), 49 tons (+36%) from Thailand for $165,000 (+15.3%), 67.94 tons (+5.2 times) from Indonesia for $58,000 (+5.2 times), 12 tons from China for $36,000, 18.9 tons from Kenya for $16,100.

In 2022, Costa Rica and Thailand supplied 79.6% and 11.3% of Azerbaijan’s pineapple imports, respectively.
