Azerbaijan hopes to increase imports of wheat, fertilizer from Russia

Azerbaijan is among the Top 10 suppliers of agricultural products to Russia, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev told a meeting of the Azerbaijani-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Baku today, Report informs.
According to him, positive dynamics in economic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are also in the agricultural sector.
"Exports of fruits and vegetables to Russia increased in 2021. Exports of dates, potatoes and apricots to Russia increased. This trend is observed this year as well. I want to underscore that Azerbaijan is one of the main suppliers of tomatoes to Russia."
Shahin Mustafayev said that Russia also plays a key role in the export of cereals (wheat, barley) and mineral fertilizers to Azerbaijan.
"Russia exported more than 1 million tons of wheat to Azerbaijan in 2021. Hoping for the support of our Russian partners, we believe in increasing wheat and fertilizer imports in the future."
