Azerbaijan begins quince imports from S.American country

Azerbaijan imported 113.5 tons of quince, valued at $79,510 during the first seven months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the imports grew by 16 percent both in terms of volume and value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan bought 75.75 tons of quince from Iran worth $53,000 (no supply a year ago), 37.34 tons (+5 times) worth $26.140 from Türkiye (+5 times), and 0.39 tons from Chile worth $350.
In 2024, Azerbaijan imported quince from Chile for the first time in 13 years (publicly available foreign trade statistics cover the period since 2011).
