There are various difficulties with agricultural lending in Azerbaijan, Emil Khasmammadov, a representative of the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency (ACDA) under the Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan, said at the 4th Agribusiness Development Forum held in Baku, Report informs.
"The total amount of loans allocated to the agricultural sector in the country's credit investments is very small. The main difficulties are the high risk of these loans, and the lack of liquid collateral among farmers and entrepreneurs in the regions who want to obtain them. It can be proposed to provide guarantees for loans allocated in this field, and to subsidize interest rates. As an agency, we have done important work in this regard," Khasmammadov noted.
