Prices in Turkish hotels sharply reduced

Baku. 25 April. REPORT.AZ/ Turkish hoteliers continue to reduce the cost of accommodation.

Report informs referring to the Rambler News Service, the average price of a hotel room for the night in Istanbul in March decreased from 140 to 91.9 euros.For comparison, the average price for a hotel room in Europe during the same period amounted to 108.1 euros.

According to the Turkish hotel association (TÜROB), if before the cost of accommodation in hotels on the coast was higher than urban hotels, but now the price difference is shrinking.The fall in prices is associated with a decrease in hotel occupancy due to reducing the number of Russian, German and British tourists.For example, demand for Turkish resorts in Germany fell by 40-45%.

The occupancy rate of hotels in Turkey in March dropped by 16.5 percentage points - up to 52.5%.In Istanbul, it had dropped by more than 20% percentage points compared to the same month of 2015, amounting to just 51.9%.
