Azerbaijan reaches agreement on tariffs  with countries of North-South international transport corridor

Baku. 11 February. REPORT.AZ/ A meeting devoted to the development of cooperation between "Russian Railways" JSC and "Azerbaijan Railways" held in Moscow.

Report was told by spokesman for 'Azerbaijan Railways' CJSC Nadir Azmammadov, at the meeting took place in accordance with the agreement reached between the heads of railways of the two countries' Javid Gurbanov and Oleg Belozerov.

At the meeting of the Russian-Azerbaijani direction of the cargo, the development of transit potential of Azerbaijan, as well as the involvement of interested countries with the development of the North-South international transport corridor were discussed. Organization of cargo transportation in Russian-Azerbaijani direction, development of transit potential of Azerbaijan, also attracting countries interested in development of the North-South international transport corridor were discussed at the meeting. 

Transportat routes "Russian Railways" JSC, "RTC Logistics" "Azerbaijan Railways" JSC and delegations of "Express Railway" LLC, Azerbaijan, as well as India (Cavahirləl Nehru Port (Nava-Sheva) - Iran (Bandar Abbas - Qazvin - Astara) - Azerbaijan (Astara-Yalama), Russia (Samur-Moscow) and India (Jawaharlal Nehru port (Nava-Sheva), Iran (Bandar Abbas - Tehran - Astara) - Azerbaijan (Astara-Yalama) - Russia (Samur-St Petersburg), at the same time, India (Cəvahirrləl Nehru port (Nava-Sheva), Iran (Bandar Abbas-Qazvin-Astara), Azerbaijan (Astara-Yalama) - Russia (Samur-Buslovskaya) - Finland (Helsinki) and Iran (Tehran-Astara) - Azerbaijan (Astara-Yalama) - Russia (Samur-Moscow)are interested in cooperation in the field of transportation service and unloading and storage of goods.

Following the discussions, the parties have agreed on freight routes on competitive rates. By the end of March, the first train on these routes is expected to departure. The next meeting between the sides agreed to hold in March.
