Greek tennis player banned from sport for life

Baku. 19 December. REPORT.AZ/ Greek tennis player Alexandros Jakupovic has been banned from the sport for life for breaking rules on match-fixing, Report informs.

The Tennis Integrity Unit says on Friday that 34-year-old Jakupovic was found guilty of five charges under the sport's anti-corruption program.

Jakupovic, whose career-high ranking was No. 267 in 2008, played in two ATP challenger tournaments this season, losing both of his matches. He has career earnings of 116,707 USD.

Details of how Jakupovic broke the rules were not given.
