Fabiano Caruana: 'Azerbaijani national team has experienced players'

Report informs, US chess team leader Fabiano Caruana told to the press service of the Baku Chess Olympiad.

The grandmaster spoke about his participation in the 42nd World Chess Olympiad: 'All the teams of the planet will participate in the prestigious competition. US team will take part in the Olympiad with high hopes. It would be wrong to speak about the result before the start of the Olympiad. We will play for the maximum result.'

F.Caruana mentioned his participation for several times in the competitions held in Azerbaijan: 'Last year I fight at the World Cup in Baku. This year I took 2nd place at Vugar Hashimov Memorial in Shamkir. Chess competitions in Azerbaijan are always remembered with the best organization. Necessary conditions are established here for the participants. I believe that Baku Chess Olympiad will also distinguish with the best organization'.

As for US team rivals, the grandmaster expressed his respect for all the teams: 'There are no weak competitors in a chess Olympiad. More precisely, draw identifies the strongest rivals. There will be enough ambitious teams. I'd like to specially stress Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese teams. Host country Azerbaijan has experienced players. We would like to win best result in the Baku Chess Olympiad. We need to avoid mistakes as much as possible'.
