Azerbaijani rowing team to compete in European Championships revealed

Baku. 26 May. REPORT.AZ/ National rowing team of Azerbaijan will take part in the European Championship, which begins on May 29 in the Polish city of Poznan. Report informs citing the official website of the National Rowing Federation of Azerbaijan, in the competition which will continue 3 days, 4 rowers will perform under the direction of head coach Juliana Stoeva.

Alexander Alexandrov will perform in single race at 2000 meters. His main rivals will be the Norwegian Olympic champion Olaf Tufte, Czech world champion Ondrej Synek and European champion Lithuanian Mindaugas Grishkonis.

Javid Efendiyev will make the single race at the same distance in the lightweight. There he will have 17 competitors.

Silver medalist of the Summer Olympic Games in 2014, Boris Yotov with Igor Lucic will perform in the double competition at a distance of 2000 m.

The European Championship will end on 31 May.
