Sale of sim cards in Azerbaijan will be limited

Baku. 27 June. REPORT.AZ/ Ministry of Communications and information technology of Azerbaijan will give permission to mobile operators to use the new frequency bands to expand LTE network.Report informs, citing the Ministry, it was stated by the Deputy Minister of Communications and information technology Iltimas Mammadov.

According to him, now 3G network has been expanded in the regions, but 4G network covers only Baku and some of the surrounding area:"The Ministry intends to introduce this technology, mainly in the highlands, to provide the whole territory of the country with Internet connection."

I. Mammadov said that in next 2 years the ministry intends to discontinue the use of GSM technology in Azerbaijan, abandoned by the world.

In addition, in the near future system of registration of IMEI codes will be improved.

 I.Mamedov stated that, according to the new rules, after applying full information about the person into a database, individual will be given the number, and the sale of mobile numbers in the country will be limited.
