Honorary Consul of New Mexico state makes speech about Southern Gas Corridor

Baku. 3 February. REPORT.AZ/ By the support of the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, the Honorary Consul of the state of New Mexico, Richard Art McAfee addressed the Santa Fe Council on International Relations on January 27 and he also made a speech in the City of Petroleum Club (City Petroleum Club) on Southern Gas Corridor and the important role of Azerbaijan in European energy security, on January 29.

Report was informed by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles.

Honorary Consul spoke about the importance of energy projects of Shah Deniz-2, TAP and TANAP and noted the importance of these projects in Europe's energy security. Honorary Consul also stressed the economic importance of the oil and gas pipelines. He said that the BP and SOCAR companies have great roles in the realization of the project and the investment in the amount of 45 billion US dollars was allocated to the project. Art MacAfee emphasized that Azerbaijani gas will be a source of new energy to Europe and will have a positive influence on economic well-being of the countries of the corridor.

He briefed the participants about the aggressive policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan.

After the speeches, the Honorary Consul answered the questions of the audience.
