High Representative: UNAOC Forum in Baku will create a unique opportunity to strengthen global partnership

Baku. 22 April. REPORT.AZ/ UN Global Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Forum in Baku will create a unique opportunity to find common ground and develop a number of practical and effective solutions to strengthen the global partnership. Report informs, the UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser has said.

"The Forum will represent the incredible opportunity to harness multiple perspectives of about 2,500 participating actors and to determine innovative solutions to advance the international agenda", said the UN High Representative.

He stressed that this is especially true today, when the world faced a "serious humanitarian crisis caused by the war, regional instability and violent extremism."

"As a world community we can no longer afford to disregard our joint responsibility to facilitate inclusive, peaceful, and just societies. The Forum will be the unique opportunity to find common ground in our humanity and to define practical and effective solutions and global partnerships", said Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser.

VII Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations to be held in Baku on April 25-27. The forum will bring together about 2500 participants, including heads of state, government officials, representatives of civil society, religious and youth leaders, to exchange views on the theme "Living Together in Inclusive Societies: A Challenge and A Goal and its relevance for preventing violent extremism, creating peace and enhancing sustainable development".

In two plenaries, 16 breakout sessions and seven networking sessions, the Forum will trigger discussions and exchanges on matters related to building inclusive societies, such as the role and significance of religious leaders; women; sports; youth and education. The Forum will also intensively discuss the role, responsibility and opportunity for media to enhance social inclusion by countering stereotyping and hate speech.
