Herbert Salber speaks about Azerbaijan's role in maintenance of energy security in Europe

Baku. 14 January. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation led by EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Herbert Salber. Report was informed by the press service of Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They exchanged views on the issues of the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union and strategic partnerships in the energy sector. In addition, EU visa facilitation and readmission agreements between EU and Azerbaijan were noted with satisfaction and an increase of mutual cooperation in the fields of science, education, culture, tourism and business.

H.Salber emphasized the role of Azerbaijan in ensuring energy security of Europe. The parties also discussed the negotiations on the solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict during the meeting.

Elmar Mammadyarov noted that Armenia commits provocative actions to purposely aggravate the situation and said that Armenian Armed Forces should withdraw from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan for the peaceful resolution of a conflict.
