EU global strategy: Territorial integrity is a key element of the European security order

Baku. 29 June. REPORT.AZ/ “The sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states, the inviolability of borders and the peaceful settlement of disputes are key elements of the European security order.” Report informs, it was stated in the EU global strategy presented by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in Brussels.

"These principles apply to all states, both within and beyond the EU’s borders", the document says.

However, peace and stability in Europe are no longer a given. Russia’s violation of international law and the destabilisation of Ukraine, on top of protracted conflicts in the wider Black Sea region, have challenged the European security order at its core.”
