EU Ambassador: Eastern Partnership Program never directed against Russia

Baku. 6 May. REPORT.AZ/ "As usually in Riga summit we hope to see a join declaration and of course, Azerbaijan, as we as the other Eastern Partnership countries will part of that declaration also hopefully signed by everybody and also by the state of goverment of all countries." Report informs, the head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Malena Mard said commenting on the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on 21-22 May.

She expressed the hope that, the declaration will be signed by all participating countries. She noted that in a such context, expects a lot from this document.

Speaking about Russia's negative attitude to this program M.Mard said that, the Eastern Partnership is not aimed and has never been directed against Russia: "I do not know why such those kind of statements has come, as this program is not anti-Russian, and never has been. It is carried out for the countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the EU, and is not anti-Russian. On the contrary, it will be beneficial to all partners including Russia if we could creat more prosperious and stabile neighborhood", said the EU Ambassador.
