Conference of Regional Dialogue on Judicial Reform in Eastern Partnership countries held in Moldova

Baku. 29 June. REPORT.AZ/ On June 28, the CoE/EU Conference of Regional Dialogue on Judicial Reform in the EAP Countries was held in Chisinau, Moldova, Reportinforms.

Judges, justice and prosecution bodies as well as representatives of NGOs conducted opinion and experience exchange in the various working groups with participation of the international experts. 

Ramil Iskandarli, Chairman of the Legal Analysis and Researches Public Union also participated in the Working Group on “Selection and Evaluation of the Judges” as representative of the civil society. During discussions Ramil Iskandarli made a speech and gave information about involvement of NGOs as observers for ensuring transparency in the process of selection of candidates for position of judges and shared his own experience as an observer. Although involvement of NGOs in the judge selection process is not of obligatory character in the international standards, the international experts emphasized this factor as a process that has an effective impact on transparency in selection and positively valued the experience of Azerbaijan.
