Baku. 9 May. REPORT.AZ/ Book by the famous Greek politician and scientist Andreas Andrianopoulos "Azerbaijan - dominant on the doorstep of Eurasia." published at the beginning of May 2016 in Thessaloniki.

Report informs, the book covers topical issues of Azerbaijan's ancient and modern history of Azerbaijan, the influence of the Christian stage of its history and Islam in the formation of the Azerbaijani culture, the role of ADRs - the first parliamentary republic in the Muslim world in the development of Azerbaijani statehood.

Greek scientist paid attention to issues of domestic and foreign policy of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev's role in preserving of the unity of the country, relations of Azerbaijan with neighboring countries, its role and policies of leading international organizations.A separate chapter - "The conflict with Armenia - respect for international law" - is devoted to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Khojaly tragedy, which are considered in the light of the need to respect sovereignty and integrity of Azerbaijan.

The book provides an analysis of the energy strategy of Azerbaijan and its role in ensuring energy security of Europe, as well as historical and contemporary aspects of the development of Greek-Azerbaijani relations.

Author of the book - A. Andrianopoulos - is one of the most respected Greek scholars. He is known for his liberal-conservative views and bold civic position. For 20 years he was a member of the Greek Parliament for more than 16 years - member of the government, in different years, occupying the posts of ministers of culture, trade and industry, energy and technology and mass communications. Currently, he is director of the Institute of Diplomacy and Global Affairs at the American CollegeofGreece.
