Azerbaijani and Belgian FMs discuss Karabakh settlement

Baku. 28 April. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Foreign Minister of Belgium, Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Didier Reynders visiting Baku. Report informs after a meeting the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said that the sides discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation, a number of regional issues, including settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. E. Mammadyarov informed the Belgian counterpart about the negotiation process. The parties also discussed the Ukrainian crisis.

Belgian Foreign Minister expressed hope for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, noting that he would like to see an improvement of the situation on the contact line. D. Reynders said that Belgium is ready to make efforts to support the peace process in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and the organization of contacts between people.

'We discussed the situation with neighbor country and the occupation of Nagorno Karabakh, because we are concerned about incidents along the contact line and we will be very pleased to see some progress in the discussions among the two neighboring countries. Of course military issue with occupation and the problem to be solved in the line of Minsk Group', he added. 

Belgian FM also said that during the visit he visited the refugee camps and camps for internally displaced persons and noted the importance of addressing related issues.
