Armenia uses fake reports as evidence in public hearings in court, Azerbaijan's ambassador to Netherlands says

Armenia repeatedly used unverified data and false interpretations as evidence during hearings on preliminary objections in the case of the application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination in a claim by Armenia, the ambassador of Azerbaijan in the Netherlands, Rahman Mustafaev, said during the hearings in the second round of objections at the International Court of Justice in The Hague in the case of the application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination in the lawsuit provided by Armenia.

"Azerbaijan was outraged by Armenia's repeated use of incorrect translations and interpretations of evidence yesterday in an attempt to demonstrate that the relevant parts of its statement may fall under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination," he said, commenting on the fake statements of the Armenian representatives about the racist badges of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Mustafayev emphasized that these allegations included the use of racist statements, which had no real evidence of, and the distortion of President Ilham Aliyev's speeches allegedly containing insults to the Armenian people, which he never used.

"I can assure the court that the armed forces of Azerbaijan have never demonstrated or used such military patches. The source of this image is the Armenian segment of social networks. These evidences, which the Armenian side's lawyer drew attention to at these hearings, are another fake," he said.

In addition, Mustafayev noted that the Armenian side in its arguments during the hearings on April 16 devoted a significant part to the presentation of extremely unreliable and unverified factual information, which grossly distorted the evidence base, and made statements that had practically nothing to do with Azerbaijan's specific preliminary objections.
