Lionel Messi met with Barcelona president Joseph Bartomeu

Baku. January 10. REPORT.AZ/ TV3 revealed today that Josep María Bartomeu, president of Barcelona, and Lionel Messi, the club’s star player, met after the Elche game yesterday in the Copa del Rey, Report informs citing foreign media.

During the meeting Bartomeu gave the Argentine star his unconditional support. Rumours suggest that the relationship between Messi and coach Luis Enrique have broken down entirely, with the two not speaking.

According to information, Bartomeu is looking for a new member of the coaching staff, who in principle will join the existing team, but who will take over as head coach if and when Luis Enrique is dismissed. It appears that time is running out for Luis Enrique, who has lost the confidence of his star player and his president.

Messi told Bartomeu in the meeting that he isn’t happy and that he doesn’t have a good relationship with Luis Enrique and his staff. The president told him to relax: “We’re looking for a technical secretary who can take over in an emergency”.
