Baku. 31 July. REPORT.AZ/ German striker Mario Gomez says he is “thrilled for his new adventure” at Besiktas, after his move to the Turkish club on loan from Italian Seria A side Fiorentina.
Report informs, talking to Besiktas’ TV channel “BJK TV”, Gomez said: “The only criterion for me is success. That’s why I will play for Besiktas.”
The German player emphasized that he wants to maintain his good statistics in Besiktas.
“I scored fewer goals in the recent two years but I was injured many times. Now I feel very well physically and mentally. I want to score many goals for Besiktas as I did before. I want to return to German National Football Team thanks to my performance for Besiktas,” the 30-year-old striker said.
Gomez said he was thrilled at the prospect of playing in the club’s new stadium, Vodafone Arena.
“Fiorentina had a good fan base, but here I will play in front of the biggest fan group in the world,” he said.
