Ancient stone roads in Baku to be asphalted due to Formula-1 rally

Baku. 17 July. REPORT.AZ/ Traffic lane in the central streets will be repaired again till "Formula-1" European Grand Prix to be held in Baku in 2016. Report informs, the head of the architectural bureau, Hermann Tilke said in an interview to the "SpeedWeek".

He said that, first of all, road works will be completed. In the end, the roads will be paved with a special asphalt cover for "Formula-1" race. The preparation for boxing training facilities and other infrastructure will begin in the next year: "The track runs through the ancient center that was covered with stones. Unfortunately, they cannot be used for  "Formula-1". For this reason, we will have to cover the stones. However, we will deal with it short time before the Grand Prix. We want to take advantage of the temporary decision: " We will pave the stone roads with sand and then cover them with asphalt. After the rally, the asphalt cover will be taken out. "

The first European Grand Prix will be held on July 17, 2016 in the central streets of Baku.
