OPEC announces postponement of summit of the largest oil exporters in April

Baku. 14 March. REPORT.AZ/ Meeting the largest countries-producers of oil, most likely, will be postponed for April and will be held in the Qatari capital Doha or in Russia. This was reported by Bloomberg with reference to the OPEC delegates from the Gulf countries, Report informs referring to the Reuters.

Information about the transfer of mid-April meeting of the largest exporters, which raised the question of a freezing of the level of oil production, Reuters confirmed from three sources in OPEC. According to their information, the meeting will be held in Doha.

Initially it was assumed that the meeting be held on March 20 in Russia, however, March 10 familiar with the matter, the Reuters sources described the meeting as highly unlikely.

According to the Agency, Iran has yet to give its consent to the accession to the agreement on freezing of the production level. One of the sources in the major exporter, is a member of OPEC, told the Agency that “Iran says they won’t take”.

Another informed source indicated to Reuters that Tehran is willing to freeze production at 4 million barrels./day, that is on the level that he was before the imposition of sanctions. This information was confirmed by a source familiar with Iran’s position.
