Bank deposits of physical persons in Azerbaijan reduced by 23%

Baku. 26 May. REPORT.AZ/ "Total bank deposits of physical persons in Azerbaijan reduced by 23%." Report informs, analyst of Moody's international rating agency Maria Malyukova said today.

M.Malyukova noted that the bulk of the external debt of Azerbaijan's banking sector is in the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA).

"Public confidence in the manat dropped. Azerbaijan occupies the first place among CIS countries on ssue of foreign currency loans. In the first quarter of 2016, volume of deposits has decreased by 17% and this process continues. The external debt of banks is 17%, the bulk of which lies at the IBA."
