Annual inflation in Azerbaijan fell to 10.4%

Baku. 8 June. REPORT.AZ/ Prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services in Azerbaijan in January-May 2016 on annual basis has increased by 10.4%, including for foodstuff products - 11.9%, non-food products - 15.3% , tariffs for paid services rendered to population - 4.4%.

Report informs referring to the report of State Statistical Committee, in general, prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services in May decreased by 0.2% on a monthly basis, including food products - by 0.7%, non-food products rose by 0.3%, tariffs for paid services rendered to population - 0.2%.

During the reporting month,prices of rice, buckwheat, chicken, sausages, eggs, butter and olive oil, sugar and granulated sugar, lemons, oranges, tangerines, bananas, apples, pears, carrots, cabbage, beets have increased. At the same time, prices for pasta, beef and mutton, unpasteurized milk, plums, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers, beans, cabbage, potatoes, garlic, parsley reduced. The prices of other food products have not significantly changed.

In May, among non-food products, prices on a monthly basis of the fabric, clothing and shoes, building materials, jewelry, furniture and household goods, carpets and floor coverings, glassware, dishes, gas and electric stoves, air conditioners increased, prices for TVs and computers, refrigerators and washing machines, spare parts for cars reduced. The prices of other non-food items have not significantly changed.

Notably, in January-April, consumer goods and tariffs for services in Azerbaijan on annual basis increased by 10.5%, including for foodstuff products - 12.2%, non-food products - 15.2%, tariffs on rendered to the population paid services - 4.2%.

In general, prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services in April on a monthly basis rose by 0.2%, including food prices grew by 0.1%, non-food products - 0.5%, tariffs for the services rendered to population remained stable.
