Tourism facilities to be built in Kalbajar

Tourism facilities will be built in Kalbajar, according to the “Master Plan for the development of Kalbajar city until 2040”, Report informs.

The service (especially tourism) and agriculture sectors will play a major role in the economic development of Kalbajar city. Since the city is located in an area close to the reconstructed Istisu sanatorium, facilities that will stimulate the development of medical tourism will be built there. All this will create a favorable basis for sustainable employment of the population.

According to the Master Plan, the city of Kalbajar will cover the existing settlement area and the nearby Boyagli village. The main street, starting from the main entrance of the city in the north-east direction and extending to the south-west direction, forms the basis of the planning structure. The industrial and production zones of the city are planned to be located at the starting point of the street, the city center in the middle part, and tourism and social service facilities at the endpoint.
