Value of Azerbaijan’s sheep imports from Georgia plummets

In the first quarter of this year, Georgia exported sheep worth $23,400 to Azerbaijan, representing a 90% decline from corresponding period of 2023, Report informs via the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

Thus, Azerbaijan ranked 3rd main destination for Georgia on sheep exports.

In January-March 2024, Georgia sold sheep worth $992,000 to foreign countries, including Qatar ($571,000) and Saudi Arabia ($396,000), which is 72% less than a year ago.

Meanwhile, in 2023, Georgia exported sheep worth $44 million abroad, of which $14.9 million fell to Azerbaijan.
